Curio's Backyard was a week long summer camp that took place at Discovery Space, an extracurricular community space for exploration. Professor of Art Education at Penn State, Kim Powell and myself co-taught this class that took students all around the Penn State community to explore the world around them. Focusing on animals and nature native to Pennsylvania, students became art-scientists. Using research journals as working sketchbooks, students were able to use technology and various art making practices to create an exhibit that displayed all of their knowledge that they gathered throughout the class.
