|Art Educator and Artist| Hello, my name is Autumn Anderson (soon to be Autumn Dow)! I am from Lahaska, PA which, is North-East of Philadelphia. I attended Penn State University studying Art Education, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics, and obtained a Special Education minor as well. I graduated on May 10th, 2014. I have wanted to be an art teacher since third grade, and have wanted to attend Penn State since fifth grade! It's crazy to think how dreams I set for myself at such a young age are coming true!
There is a lot going on in my life right now. 2015-16 marks my second year of teaching at Willow Dale Elementary. I will be getting married on May 29, 2016. I will also graduate in August 2016 from Moore College of Art and Design with a masters degree in Art Education with an Emphasis in Special Populations. Art has always been my passion, and being able to teach others everyday is the best job in the world, in my eyes. The art room was always a safe haven for me and an escape from the everyday pressures. I want my classroom to be bright, inviting, and a positive atmosphere that can be an oasis for my students. I feel as if my hands are always messy and clothes are covered in students art projects, but just seeing the joy that radiates from students as they are making art is amazing! There is so much that I have learned that I cannot wait to teach others. This website is devoted to showing my artwork, my current and past teaching practices, through lesson plans, photos, and a regularly updated blog! My resume and a contact form are also provided if you have any questions! Enjoy! :) |
